Cookie notice

Updated 6 October 2026

Cookies are small files a site stores on your device, and sites can also store things in your browser. This is what Farmers Basket stores, why, and how to turn off the one part you can do without.

What we use

  • A sign-in cookie, so you stay signed in while you move between pages. It clears when you sign out.
  • A basket store on your own device, so the food you picked is still there if you close the tab.
  • Your postcode and chosen markets, stored on your own device, so we only show you food from those markets.
  • A security cookie that protects forms from misuse.
  • A payment cookie set by Stripe on the payment step, to detect fraud.

Counting visits

We count visits to our pages so we know which ones are used and can improve the site. A random number is stored in your browser for that visit only, and is cleared when you close the tab. It is not linked to your account, it is not shared with anyone, and it only works on Farmers Basket. You can turn it off here.

What we do not use

We do not use advertising cookies, social media pixels, cross site trackers or analytics that profile you. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, the storage needed to run the site does not need your consent, and counting visits for our own statistics does not either, as long as you can turn it off. That is why there is no cookie banner.

If we ever add advertising or tracking across sites, we will ask for your consent first and update this notice.

Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the sign-in cookie means you cannot stay signed in or order food.
