Updated 6 October 2026
Every food on Farmers Basket shows its allergens before you order. This is where to find them, what else each food tells you, and how to check with the stall.

Where to find allergens
Tap any food to open its page. Under "About this food" you will see which of the 14 main allergens it contains, its ingredients with the allergens in bold, and anything it may contain. A food cannot be ordered until its stall has told us its allergens.
The 14 allergens
UK law asks every food business to tell you if food contains any of these:
- Celery
- Cereals containing gluten
- Crustaceans
- Eggs
- Fish
- Lupin
- Milk
- Molluscs
- Mustard
- Tree nuts
- Peanuts
- Sesame
- Soya
- Sulphites
What else each food shows
- Ingredients, for anything with more than one, with allergens in bold.
- Where it comes from, for meat, fish, fresh fruit and veg, and honey.
- How fish was caught or farmed, and where.
- Whether a cheese or dairy food is made with raw (unpasteurised) milk.
- The size of anything packed, how to store it, and alcohol strength for drinks.
- Who sells it: the stall and the food business behind it.
At the stall
When you collect, the stall can tell you about allergens again, and packed food carries its own label. If you have a severe allergy, tell the stall when you collect and ask before you eat anything. Many stalls work in kitchens and on stalls that also handle other allergens.
Who is responsible
Each stall is the food business for what it sells and is responsible for its allergen and food information being correct. Farmers Basket shows that information to you before you order and checks every food has its allergens before it can be ordered.
Something wrong?
If a food's information looks wrong, or you reacted to something you bought, write to rafael@ripponstudio.co.uk with your collection code. We will contact the stall straight away. In an emergency, call 999.
